About Micron Technology, Inc.

Micron Technology, Inc. is a United States manufacturer of computer memory and computer data storage, releasing their products under the brand name Crucial and Ballistix. The company was first established in 1978, initially operating as a semiconductor design consulting company. In 1981, the company manufactured their first wafer fabrication unit, marking their departure from consulting. 

Three years later, the company went public, holding their stock market launch. The company then continued to grow and structure itself as their capabilities increased. In 1996, ZEOS International, Micron Computer, and Micron Custom Manufacturing Services (MCMS) underwent a three way merger which greatly increased their size, and they soon went on to more acquisitions.
